2011, année Saint-Exupéry / 2011, the Saint-Exupéry year

Cette année, Toulouse, capitale aérienne française, célèbre l’aviateur et auteur Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900-1944), à qui on doit le Petit Prince. Pour tout savoir sur l’exposition consacrée à Saint-Ex, c’est ici.

Une bonne occasion pour nous de redécouvrir le texte mais aussi de nous livrer à un petit exercice d’écriture comme :

-réécrire le conte du point de vue du petit prince

OU

-inventer une nouvelle planète sur laquelle se rendrait le petit prince

OU

- changer le personnage et faire du petit prince une “petite princesse” pour voir si l’histoire différerait beaucoup…

This year, Toulouse, the capital of French aviation, is celebrating Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900-1944), aviator and author of The Little Prince. If you travel to Toulouse, you may enjoy visiting the temporary exhibition about Saint-Exupéry.

Anyway, you may enjoy reading (again?) The Little Prince (full text available online). After your reading, you might like to do this little writing exercise:

-rewrite the story from the little prince’s point of view

OR

-write a new chapter taking place on a planet you will invent

OR

-change the gender of the main character and write The Little Princess (not the one you already know, another one based on the little prince’s story !). See how much the plot differs…
