My kaizen way to a more creative everyday life (English only)

Publié le 12 juillet 2011 par Frederiqueauteure

The Kaizen Way, a book by Robert Maurer, guides us step by step towards the desired goal thanks to a Japanese method, keeping in mind that going slowly but surely is less intimidating than setting a huge goal such as “publish a best-seller” or “display your art in a prestigious gallery. “

Making small steps on a daily basis does not prevent us from keeping our big dream in mind, but allows us to go a little further each day, even if we lack time or motivation sometimes. For example: write a page a day to be able to obtain a 365-page book at the end of the year…

Here are some creative steps which I “created” to help me. They might help you on the road to a more creative life. I dedicate this article to Cynthia Morris, whose e-book 29 Ways to Take A Leap Creative inspired me the following steps …

1-Make your own logo. As personal branding is pretty popular now, creating one’s logo is almost necessary. It is also very simple and fun. Try to use CoolText to generate easily your logo.

2-Buy one accessory that is totally you. I used to hate wearing glasses, that is why I just bought a pair of massive and noticeable Ray Ban glasses. And now I enjoy wearing glasses, they are part of my style.

3-Add a bit of glamour to your kitchen in a few minutes only. Throw these old and ugly mismatched cups in the trash, and these table mats full of stains too. In decoration chain stores, you can get at least a dozen matching plates for about 15 dollars. And get pretty tea towels to add a bit of beauty to your kitchen.

4-Sort through your clothes. This old dress is unworthy of you. Resell it or give it, even if you end up keeping only a few essentials you look stunning in. Because you are worth it!

5-Invest in a camera that never leaves your bag. Imagine you are Robert Doisneau and shoot all you the places you like in your town…

6-Use your camera in your kitchen and pretend you are a culinary designer!

7-Change your answering machine message. Choose music and / or a message that matches your personal and professional needs.

To be continued …
