Sunday sewing #1 or how to make a jersey Tshirt in about an hour...(with a serger)
You'll trace the shape of your favorite Tshirt on patternpaper.
Tu obtiendras 2 dessins ressemblants +/- à ceci que tu découperas dans ton joli jersey
que tu as prévu rien que pour ça - en ajoutant, bien sûr, un ptit cm de surplus de couture:
You'll end up with 2 shapes looking normally like the ones hereunder.
You'll cut the shapes in the beautiful jersey fabric you bought for the occasion,
with about 1cm edges
With both right sides facing, you'll sew first the shoulder, then the sides - or vice et versa
3. Tu épingleras ensuite les manches aux emmanchures en prenant la ligne d'épaule comme repère et tu les assembleras
You'll then pin the sleeves to the sleeveholes starting with the shoulder line and you'll sew them
4. Tu continueras en piquant la couture des manches jusqu'au bout des poignets
you'll keep on going by sewing the sleeves side seams all the way to the wrist

You'll finish the collar and hems following the extra technique Carole explains here(clic)
You'll put your new Tshirt discretly on and approach your chéri innocently... he'll stop reading for a sec' to ask you what you've been making... Since there is no chance he'll believe you made a whole Tshirt in an hour, just answer he probably dreamed hearing the noise of the sewing machine but that it is indeed a super good idea, you know, to make yourself something on this Sunday afternoon... and you'll go and make yourself a new skirt... (that I'll show you tomorrow?)
