Aux armes, citoyens…/arm yourselves…

C’est toujours la même chose. La pollution, c’est comme la vérole : tant que ça ne touche pas notre territoire ou le bout de notre queue, on a un peu tendance à bailler, à mettre ça sous le tapis et penser à des choses plus sérieuses comme la pêche à la mouche en particulier où la beauté de nos rivières ou le sourire de nos femmes. Et puis, un beau matin, on se réveille avec une sacrée merde sous les yeux, merde qui va peut-être se transformer en Niagara de chiasse si on ne réagit pas temps. Et c’est ce qui nous pend au nez en Ardèche (et sous peu, dans d’autres départements limitrophes) avec cette cochonnerie d’exploitation de gaz de schiste.[READ IN ENGLISH]

En deux mots, certaines personnes haut placées de notre gouvernement n’ont visiblement pas fait leur travail de recherche avec application et ont déjà délivré trois permis d’exploitation à TOTAL, GdF Suez et Schuepbach Energy pour faire des forages en Ardèche méridionale. D’autres suivront, soyez-en sûrs : quand il y a du pognon à se faire, il y a pléthore de prétendants. Sachant les énormes risques écologiques que cette technique engendre  (Google : gaz de schiste en Ardèche ) il est grand temps de se retrousser les manches et en premier lieu de signer la pétition ICI Ensuite, on verra. La résistance à l’air de s’organiser déjà et nous avons grand besoin de vous. Faites donc suivre le lien, et au boulot. Si vous voulez avoir le plaisir de continuer à pêcher dans vos et nos rivières et à apprendre à vos enfants à pêcher, il n’y a pas une seconde à perdre . 

It’s always the same thing. Pollution is like the pox, as long as it isn’t in our back yard there is a tendency to yawn, sweep it under the carpet and think of more serious things like fly fishing in particular or the beauty of our rivers or the smile of our wives. And then, one fine morning, we wake up to a pile shit in front of our eyes, shit that might transform into a veritable Niagra Falls if we don’t react in time. And that is exactly what they are hanging in front of our noses in the Ardeche right now(and soon thereafter in the neighboring departments) with this disgraceful Hydraulic Fracturing.

Briefly, certain highly place people in our government have, visibly, not done their work of conscientious research and have already given three permits to TOTAL, GdF Suez and Schuepbach Energy to drill in southern Ardeche. Others will follow, you can be sure; where there is money to be made there are a plethora of demands. To understand the enormous ecological risks that this technique  engenders, just Google: Gaz de shiest en Ardeche (or Fracking in general). It is time to roll up our sleeves and firstly, sign the petition HERE, after that we’ll see. There are already people organizing themselves to offer resistance and we have need of you. If you want the pleasure to continue to fishing your and our rivers, to teach your children to fish… then there isn’t second to lose.
