J&H#024 – Mix & Talk with Stereociti

Personnage discret de la scène Japonaise, Stereociti alias Ken Sumitani signe sur l’excellent label Berlinois Mojuba en 2009 avec l’EP Early Light. Constant il nous offre depuis une sortie par an sur le label, avec l’année dernière l’album Kawasaki, playlisté dans notre player de Juillet dernier. Amateur d’une techno atmosphérique qu’il aime associer au groove subtil et délicat d’une deep house sensuelle, il nous offre pour le vingt-cinquième volet des mix exclusifs J&H, un set inspiré, profond et mental à souhait. Comment se porte la scène clubbing en ce moment au Japon ?

Et bien le durcissement de la loi, et la tolérance 0 qui s’installe, concernant l’horaire d’ouverture des clubs nous pourri la vie. Ici tu ne peux pas resté ouvert entre une et cinq heures du matin, et cette année plusieurs établissements ont du fermé. C’est un grave problème qui devrait devenir une préoccupation de tous.

Une différence majeure avec la scène européenne ?

Les cachets des DJ.

Si tu devais prendre un aspect du clubbing Européen et le transposer au Japon, quel serait-il ?

La place.

Et à l’inverse un aspect club que nous avons ici que tu ne souhaiterais pour rien au monde voir débouler au Japon ?

Rien qui me vienne en tête.

Quels sont tes plans pour les prochains mois ?

Un nouvel Ep sur Mojuba intitulé « dialogue » qui devrait sortir d’ici la fin de l’été.

What happening right now with the club scene in Japan ?

The law is killing the scene at the moment. It’s a serious problem, which should be a matter of public concern. Clubs have to close between midnight and 5am, and recently various club owners have to shut down their nighclubs because of the police…

What big difference have you noticed with our european scene ?

DJ fee.

If there is something you could get from the european scene what will it be ?

Some space for the job

And at the contratry if there is something we have there, you really don’t want to get, what will it be ?

Nothing that I know of.
