Dita Von Teese + Twilight

A full page portrait for a Uk magazine of pin-up-rĂŠtro-sexy-morticia-like-artist Dita Von Teese.

About the work process : I hesitated to do one of my so used to sexy composition of melting corpses. Finally I thought it will be too repetitive  with some of my other works, too easy, so I tried to do a portrait in portraying, with a retro style frame and accent put on what is really striking in Dita’s silhouette : her ultra thin waist !

A propos de ma dĂŠmarche: j’ai hĂŠsitĂŠ Ă  faire une ĂŠnième compo comme je fais d’habitude, avec des corps mĂŠlĂŠes de manière sexy et abstraite. Mais ça m’a parru trop facile et rĂŠpĂŠtitif alors pourquoi ne pas faire un portrait dans le portrait ? Du coup un cadre et une attitude sage pour Dita, avec tout de mĂŞme bien soulignĂŠ ce qui marque le plus dans sa silhouette : son incroyable taille si fine !

And to stay in the gothic-romantic spirit of this post: I surrundered to a friend who adviced me about reading “Twilight” by Stephenie Meyer, as I was again moaning about my hopeless-awfull level in English. She said ” If you do not want to start with Harry Potter (I already read all in French like a maniac) what about a fantastic cheesy love story for teenagers that is now a worldwide bestseller ? “. Ok, so now I’m in a totally regressive fanatic position about “Twilight” which makes me think there’s still a 13 years old girl in me.

So buy it for your little sister, and if you, like me, are a girl (hum, woman) extremly good public for all this kind of things, you can borrow her the book and read it (hiden or not, no no I’m not ashamed).

Bon et pour rester dans le cĂ´tĂŠ romantique-gothique-abordable de ce billet: j’ai capitulĂŠ face aux conseils d’une amie, qui devant une de mes incessante plainte sur la mĂŠdiocritĂŠ bien rĂŠelle de mon anglais, me conseilla de lire “Twilight” de Stephenie Meyer, prĂŠtextant que “puisque je n’allais pas commencer par re-lire les Harry Potter (mais cette fois en Anglais et pas en français…tous Ă  la suite …comme une maniaque) pourquoi ne pas commencer par une histoire guimauve fantastique pour ados qui est dĂŠsormais un best seller mondial ?” Ok, je suis faite, il y a encore une jeune fille de 13 ans en moi qui trĂŠssaille Ă  chaque retournement de situation dans “Twilight”.

Alors achetez le pour votre petite soeur et si comme moi vous ĂŞtes très TRES bon public pour ce genre de chose et bien vous pouvez lui piquer pour le lire ( cachĂŠ ou pas, non, je n’ai pas honte).
